Fall 2008 CID Seminar Series

Unless otherwise noted, all events take place in the Perkins Room, on the 4th floor of Rubenstein Building at KSG.

Mondays

Economic Development Lunch Series
12:00 - 1:00 PM
This year-long seminar gives students an opportunity to present research on various topics related to economics in developing countries. The series is primarily intended for Ph.D. students working in economics development and faculty with interests in development. Priority to present research is given to those who attend regularly

 

Lunches on Economic Policy (LEP)
1:00-2:00 PM
Lunch on Economic Policy (LEP) is a seminar for invited faculty to discuss new and developing research ideas in economics. The lunch is for faculty only.

Tuesdays Sustainability Science Fellows Seminar
9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Graduate students, fellows, research staff, and faculty are invited to join Sustainability Science Program members as they explore the interactions among knowledge, environment, and development in general, and the challenges of sustainable development in particular.
Thursdays Political Economy of Religion Seminar
12:30-2:00 PM
The seminar series focuses on interdisciplinary research on religion in the social sciences. To encourage discussion and research, a bi-weekly seminar series luncheon will begin in the Fall of 2008. In the fall, scholars from around the world will come and present their work. The Spring of 2009 will be dedicated to Harvard faculty and graduate students working on religion in the social sciences. Our speakers come from various disciplines - economics, sociology, politics, anthropology, history - presenting new ways of addressing issues on religion.
Fridays CID Graduate Student Lunch Seminar
11:45 AM - 1:00 PM
Seminar inviting academics and practitioners of development from various disciplines and organizations to speak on current development issues. The core audience is KSG masters-level students.
Occasional speaker series Frontiers in Sustainable Development Speaker Series
Series that hosts presentations and discussions of sustainable development by researchers from Harvard and visitors from the wider world. Graduate students, fellows, research staff, and faculty are invited.
